PEACE and HARMONY

“”Hum kya banana chahte the, hum kya bana ke baith gaye ,
Kahi mandir bana liya to kahi masjid bana ke baith gaye,
Hum se ache to ye parinde hai dosto,
Jo kabhi mandir me jaakar to kabhi masjid me jake baith gaye””

“Peace is not only better than war, but infinitely more difficult”. Same was India’s situation in the 15th century. Their established many human races, ethnic groups and religion on earth. “Religion”- which should have taught the people to treat all human beings equally, acted as a divertive force. This was the condition when the founder of “Sikhism”, GURU NANAK DEV JI was born.
Guru Nanak ji always felt that their cannot be two separate gods. Ram for Hindus and Allah for Muslims, as generally claimed by different people. He declared that there is only one god for humanity. We can call him by any name Ram, Rahim, Allah, Jesus, God, etc. etc. According to him, if we all believed in one single god, spiritual unity cannot be achieved. Their way of worship may be different but unity among them is natural if their god is one.
He also had a reverence for women always. He allowed them to join all the gatherings and conferences irrespective of their religion. In all, his universal message was Peace, Unity, Love, Mutual Respect, Service and Dedication to all Mankind.
He always talked of five “khands”-
·       Dharma khand {Realm of duty}.
·       Gyan khand {Realm of knowledge}.
·       Sharam khand {Realm of ecstasy}.
·       Karma khand {Realm of power}.
·       Sach khand {Realm of truth}.
That was Guru Nanak Dev ji, but our heads bow immediately when one single question flows to each and everybody’s mind and that is- “are we following the path that Guru Nanak Dev ji made for us, NO my friends, Not at all”. It can be well concluded from the famous Rudrapur riots that just took place a few days ago-
“Na sambhaloge to mit jaoge ae Hindustan walo, tumhari daastan bhi na hogi daastano me”
I feel sorry when incidents like this happen. It’s so easy for the anti- social elements to create communal violence in India. Heads off to the master minds and Heads off to all of us, who instead of searching the masterminds got busy fighting with each other. We have still not learnt “How to live” in these 65 years of independence.
People just wake up. Let us stop looking for an excuse to kill each other. Please be human and respect human life. As its well quoted-
“Ye nafrat buri hai na paalo ise,
Dilo me khalish hai nikalo ise,
Na iska, Na uska, Na tera, Na mera,
Ye hum sab ka watan hai bachalo ise”
